Design Assignment Version 1.0 is Up April 20, 2010

I’ve been working on my design assignment all week, and I think I’ve gotten to the point where I need to stop and reflect a bit before continuing to tinker with it. So I put up version 1.0 of the design assignment on my site. I might make a few small changes to it between now and class tomorrow, but it’s pretty much complete. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I really like the idea of stopping and reflecting — as I mentioned in my own post, this is feeling a lot more like a paper as time goes by. And that is certainly something I always do with my papers — set them aside for a few days once they’re “done” and then proofread them one more time when I’m more likely to see what’s actually there than what I meant to have be there.
I think one of the hardest differences here is something I mentioned in my blog — unlike my papers, which I tend to write and then edit and then stop working on, there’s an infinite number of changes and tweaks one can make to a website. How do you know when to stop? How do you know when you’re ready to turn it in? (Like with a paper, thank heavens for deadlines that make you just *stop.*) But a Power Point presentation is more like a website and less like a paper.
Thanks for the idea of taking a break and a breath — I think that’s a really good idea. Now if I can just figure out what do once I’ve had that breath . . .
